Sondra had a great workout including staying low and straight during her spiderman climbs and going full out on the crazy core finisher.  There are definitely some level promotions in her future.  Way to rock Sondra!

Vijaya may be a newbie but she is quickly climbing the progression ladder on tons of exercises.  Way to go on your level 3 face pulls today and mastering the suspension bodyweight bicep curl.  Awesome job!

No one could deny that Jaime earned FCOD.  She did preacher curls with 15's and all of her burpees with a tuck jump!

Sometimes finding the strength to start after a break, planned or otherwise, is really hard to do.  However, Renee, Amanda, and Tricia rocked their first workouts back in true Fit Club veteran style.  Way to get back in the game ladies!

From time to time the energy in a training session is so high and the ladies feed off of each other's energy so much that it is impossible to pick one Fit Clubber of the Day.  For that reason, we are shouting out Donna, Shioneia, A.D., Natasha, Carolyn, Pamela, Nancy, and Vijaya for an awesome workout this morning.  Way to rock!

Tabby, Liz, and Amy way to rock your workout today.  Amy did level 3 T push ups and level 3 squat jumps.  Liz had killer cross body mountain climbers, and Tabby performed each exercise with veteran style form.  Way to work ladies!

Cinnamon & Tara earn Fit Clubber of the Day for their efforts to step up their nutrition approach.  They are only 9 days in and when they walked in to training session this morning, we could already see a difference.  Way to go girls!

Body Transformation & Weight Loss Challenge Winner Announced

Jean Drop Challenge Winner 


The Jean Drop Challenge is a weight loss and body transformation challenge with one objective...drop a jean size or two during an 8-week period.  Our winner lost weight and dropped THREE JEAN SIZES over the course of the eight-week body transformation challenge.  You can read her story below as she explains how to drop a jean size in eight weeks.  We will also give you our commentary on Maria's journey.

In any challenge, there is always some fall off and sometimes those who start slow, finish strong and sometimes the opposite happens.  Either way, we knew Maria meant business from the start.  Maria was able to fit and close her goal jeans after the first two weeks of the challenge. 

YOU READ THAT RIGHT.  THE PICTURES ABOVE ARE 2-WEEK RESULTS!

By the 4-week check in, we knew Maria needed a new goal to keep her motivated so we asked her to bring in new jeans however she surprisingly discovered that the pair she brought already fit so she had to bring her new pair to the 6-week check in and would only have two weeks to make improvements.  SHE DID IT!  Below are her pictures for her new jeans at week 6 and then again at week 8.

She is very modest in her essay below where she explains how to drop a jean size or more in eight weeks so we take the liberty of telling you guys that during this challenge, Maria stepped up her game and showed up for almost every training session offered and handled a fun filled weekend trip during the LAST TWO WEEKS of this challenge.  She took food along with her, worked out daily on the beach, and planned her indulgences so that she could enjoy her vacation without bringing down her travelling companions with her fitness program.

Want to know how to drop a jean size is eight weeks?  Here's what Maria has to say about her journey.


When I decided to join the Jean Drop Challenge, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I knew I needed help getting back to a shape that has long eluded my efforts. I signed up, determined to attend every class and meet every challenge with my best.


Some days I was tired, but I knew that all I had to do was SHOW UP to the workout and I would be glad for it. Anything to keep me moving. That was absolutely key – NO EXCUSES to not show up.

I did not allow myself to think about the difficulty of what I was facing; I didn’t want anything negative to cross my mind. I knew that it would take a lot of hard work on my part to do this, but I had put myself in this position, and there was only one way out – to change my habits and to work it off.

I anticipated two challenging aspects: giving up my nightly glass (or two or three) of wine, and dealing with restaurants, as my husband loves to eat out on the weekends.

I had already learned that having a drink the night before a 5am workout makes the morning not so pleasant, so knowing that I had workouts M-W and Saturday early morning helped me keep the wine at bay.

As far as eating out, I figured if I went with salad, I would be safest from hidden fats and high calorie counts. I used salsa as my dressing and avocado as my ‘treat’. I would sometimes eat vegetarian protein prior to going out, to curb my hunger.

Using the online menu planner to create meal plans and see different ways to get all my protein and nutrients was very helpful. I have been eating healthy but really enjoying my food, so I know I can sustain that without feeling cheated, and continue to make progress. I also know that I need to keep my water intake high, which helps me not feel like snacking, and I understand the value of short-burst, hard workouts multiple times weekly to help my body burn fat.

These are tools I can keep in my ‘healthy lifestyle’ toolbox forever, and continue to use!

 FCOD was Carolyn!!! Woohoo she rocked the big girl weights on the DL Rows. She didn't think she could do it and she picked them up and busted that station put all four times!!!!

Maria, Jaime, and Kalpana progressed to single leg hip bridges on the ball and burpee tuck jumps during a CHALLENGE WORKOUT.  Way to go ladies!

6:15 Coppell Personal Training Group:

 FCOD was Cinnamon!!! She upped her weights on the DL Row and increased her angle on the TRX curls, increasing the difficulty!!!!!

Coppell 5:20am Group

Pamela,Nancy, Shioneia, Swati, Renina, A.D., and Carolyn rocked today.  Before we started I told them this was their fifth week to do this workout and I wanted them to challenge themselves by either bumping up weight or aiming for more reps on subsequent rounds. Every single one of them rose to the challenge and they cheered and challenged each other along the way!!!!

Cinnamon and Tara :) They rocked the surprise workout and worked as a team and also competed against each other. They had a great workout and had a blast in the process!!!

We had a tie this morning for FCOD.  Rochelle cranked out offset squat to press with 18lbs but Maria really focused today and made sure to make everyone of her squats and lunges full range of motion.  They were awesome.  Maria and Jaime also added the abduction to their side planks.  Great work ladies!


Coppell 9:30am Group:

Andrea had an awesome workout today.  She went up in levels on her offset squat and deadlift to row exercises and had lots of air under her feet with her jump squats during conditioning.  Way to go Andrea!

Susan rocked her workout SOLO.  She took every slow tempo, isometric hold, and other advanced variations I threw at her in stride.  Way to dig deep and work hard.  We think the other PM Fit Clubbers had sugar hangover.  We'll see.

Nikki earns the title for taking the challenge of bumping up to 15's on deadlift rows and squat to press without hesitation.  Shout out also to Maria for improving on her side planks...she even did a few of the rounds with her leg abducted.

We have co-FC'sOD today.  Daryle's increased range of motion on close grip pushups was fantastic and I couldn't overlook Nikki's determination to complete the burpee/plank faceoff ladder.  Great energy this morning from these ladies!

Sondra and Swati are Fit Clubbers of the Day. Even for the late morning group, the cold weather was an obstacle and these two rocked the modified workout with great intensity  Way to go ladies!

Aleya had a great performance and bumped up levels on multiple exercise.  Most notable was the increase in weight for the deadlifts.  Way to work it Aleya!

Randee and Tara made it all the way down the ladder and part way back up in this morning's challenge workout.  Way to work it ladies!

Nikki is our FCOD.  She gave level 3 slider hamstring curls a try when challenged and did a fantastic job.  She also gave 110% during the entire 60 seconds of all rounds of spiderman (almost Ninja) climbs and high knees.  She got everyone's attention this morning!

Tara, Candace, and Kim all made it all the way down the ladder and part way back up in this morning's challenge workout.  Way to work it ladies!

Sometimes there is no memo necessary- we all wore pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month without planning .

Coppell 5:20 Session:
FCOD was Carolyn Matthews!!!! Her form was perfect and she performed her reps on every exercise in a very controlled and deliberate manner. I challenged her to go up a level or half a level on the press portion of the offset squats and she did :)
Coppell 6:15 Session:

FCOD was Tara Barnes!!! She wanted to use 15s for DL rows but there were none so she grabbed 12s. I challenged her to Ty the 18lb KBs and if they were too heavy to drop back down to the 12s. She rocked out the 18s with perfect form!!!!


Mommy Makeover Training Session:
Camila rocked her workout today.  She was focused and had awesome form and made many level progressions today.  Way to go Camila!

Highland Village Session:
Maria earned FCOD for level 3 pushup claps for her first time today!

Highland Village PM Session:
Tricia, Jennifer G, Aleya Trena, Amber, Melissa, Carla, Nikki, Angela, and Ginna ALL rocked the challenge workout but most of all had so much positive energy and enthusiasm going the ENTIRE WORKOUT.   Plenty of trash talking and keeping each other accountable made this workout a stellar group performance.

Donna gets Fit Clubber of the day not only for her great workout performance today but also for her dedication to cleaning up her nutrition.  She appears often with labels and containers to make sure her dietary picks are helping her get to her goal.  Awesome dedication Donna!

Maria for level 3 slider hamstring curls for the first time!  She did an outstanding job. Great effort this morning from all!

Evelyn's intensity was off the charts this morning.  With each passing month, her strength, endurance, and focus grows.  Way to keep getting better Evelyn!

Camila earns the title today for fitting in with the veterans on a tough lower body focused workout and totally embracing the challenge of the "Leg Crank" finisher.  Way to go!

Highland Village 5:30 Session
Nikki earned FCOD for mastering deadlifts.  Shout outs also to Jaime and Kalpana for pushup claps and Maria and Nikki for plyo pushups. Rochelle is so close to getting off the ground on plyo pushups...it won't be long.

Coppell 5:20 Session
A.D.  killed the surprise challenge workout.  She took that challenge personally and got all the way down the 10,8,6,4,2 rep ladder AND BACK UP TO 8.  It was insane to watch.  Way to go girl!

Coppell 6:15 Session
Evelyn was on a mission today...focused, driven and determined!!!!

Coppell 9:30am Session!
Cathy took the surprise challenge workout as a needed opportunity to blow off some steam and boy did she have a stellar performance.  Way to use that energy for a good cause Cathy

Fit Clubbers of the Day

Fit Club Members Are Rocking Again!

How strange is this?... two Fit Clubbers escaped before I took this picture but those two had on the same color top as well.  The Fit Clubbers were color coordinated by pairs today....STRANGE!  Love it!

Unbelievable Upper Body Workout

Coppell 6:30pm Training Session: Susan gets Fit Clubber of the day because her first day was the same day as our "unbelievable upper body workout".  While every person in session that night brought their A game, Susan got FCOD for hanging in there with the veterans.

Coppell 5:20am Training Session:
Candace Sandifer, Carolyn Matthews, Donna Worley, Natasha Toney, Pamela Mears, Swati Aparaju, Tiffany Green, and AD Oliver rocked the UUB workout this morning.  The energy in that session was through the roof.  Way to push each other to new heights girls!

Highland Village 5:30am Training Session:

Jaime Fechter, Nikki Berland, and Daryle Currie earned Fit Team of the Day for setting their mind to completing the ladder finisher.  With 1 second left, they completed the ladder down to 2 burpees!  Great job ladies!



Coppell 6:15am Training Session:
Cinnamon Barnes, Tara Barnes, and Evelyn Miller earned Fit Team of the Day for keeping each other going during the UUB Workout and pushing each other to finish the Burpee Plank Off Finisher before time ran out.

Angela brought her A game to a fun and crazy workout.  She is getting stronger as the weeks go by and we can definitely see the fruit of her labor.  Keep rocking Angela!

Highland Village 5:30AM
Everyone did an outstanding job today but Jaime earns the title for getting the closest to completing 2 full rounds of the difficult finisher!

Coppell 5:20AM
Donna's workout today was AMAZING!  She dug in on a super hard lower body focused workout and finished strong with the "Leg Crank".  I think her new baseball cap fueled her performance.  She was focused and IN THE ZONE!  Way to go Donna!

Coppell 6:15AM
Cinnamon's consistency and hard work is showing.  Awesome job tody on the "Leg Crank" finisher Cinnamon.  Keep rocking!

Coppell 9:30AM
Bernice is doing great getting into the groove of things at Fit Club.  Her form and intensity is improving at each workout.  Awesome job today!

Fit Clubbers of the Day

Congratulations to our Fit Club Rock Starts!

5:20 AM Training Group:
Miss Nancy kicked some booty!!! She comes to class excited and ready to work!!! I LOVE the energy she brings with her each and every time I coach her!!!! She's on vacation this week and still got up to come to class...that's dedication!!!!

5:30AM Training Group (Highland Village)
FCOD was earned by Jaime for completing two - 60 second rounds of push up claps!  Major shout out to our newbie, Nikki, she picked up on all the exercises very quickly and had no fear of heavy weights!  She used 15's on bicep curls and used 18lbs (yes, she held a 10 and 8lb d.b.s in one hand) on offset squats with press!

6:15AM Training Group
Sangeeta has shown so much improvement over the last 4 weeks. She is able to do so much more than the first time I coached her and her form keeps improving each week!!! She's also upping the amount of weight she uses!!!

9:30AM Training Group
Nora, Bernice, and Andrea all went in hard this morning.  Kuddos to you guys for attacking this new phase of workouts!

We have the best women's fitness training program by far...because we have the best members by far!  KEEP ROCKING FIT CLUBBERS!

Fit Clubbers of the Day were Tricia, Ginna, and Kim!!  All of the ladies rocked the Over the Bridge and Through the Mountains Challenge workout. Awesome energy girls!

Fit Clubbers of the Day were Nancy, Michelle, Tiffany, Lydia, Shioneia, Pamela, Carolyn, A.D. Oliver, Evelyn, Donna, Stephanie, and Swati!!  All of the ladies rocked the Over the Bridge and Through the Mountains Challenge workout. Awesome energy girls!

Fit Clubber of the day was Daryl!  She rocked the workout Friday morning! She completed 4 rounds of the circuit and did an awesome job in the finisher especially on the pushup walks!

Today's Fit Clubbers of the Day, Wed, 9/26


Wednesday – 9/26/12
Coppell 5:20am
Fit Clubbers of the Day are Mona and Nancy.  Mona is only in her second week back and digging into those workouts like a champ. Excellent work this morning, especially embracing those surrenders. Nancy continues to bring so much energy to the group and today was no different. Thanks for pumping up the group during one of the most grueling parts of the workout... push up walks. Keep rocking Nancy!

Fit Clubber of the day is Maria.  She earned every bit of today’s title by completing the most full rounds in the challenge workout. Great job Maria!! Shout-outs to the entire group – Daryl, Kalpana, Maria, and Rochelle --  for doing squat jumps the entire workout and T pushups.

Fit Clubber of the Day is Sondra!!  She did an awesome job this morning. Way to push past the talk in your head and make a great workout happen under less than stellar conditions. You rock!

MMT – Coppell 9:30am
Mommy Makeover Trainees of the Day are Nora and Andrea!!  You guys embraced the Over the Bridge and Through the Mountains challenge and managed to have a ton of fun while doing it. Keep up the good work ladies!

Coppell 5:20am
Fit Clubbers of the Day went to AD and Shioneia!!  AD was like a machine!!!! Focus, focus, focus!!!!!  She wasn't letting anything deter her!!!  Shioneia had phenomenal form and didn't sacrifice it once for speed!!!

Highland Village 5:30am
Fit Clubber of the Day went to Kalpana!  She did box squats (all the way to the box) with 30lbs and increased her speed on spiderman climbs!! Woohoo!

Coppell 6:15am
Fit Clubber of the Day was Katherine...this was my first time working with her, and she pushed herself, what a trooper!!!

Mommy Makeover Trainee of the Day was Andrea!!  Congrats!  Your tenacity and attack on Monday’s workout was impressive...especially your determination to get that last round of the conditioning circuit. Good job girl!

Monday – 9/17/12

Coppell 5:20am
Fit Clubber of the Day was Pamela!  She had an awesome progression including several level progressions. The highlight of her workout Monday was using the 20s for her offset deadlifts. Way to go Pamela... you are well on your way!

Highland Village 5:30am
Fit Clubber of the Day was shared Monday by Daryl, for fighting so hard on v-sit-stir the pot and Maria, for the fastest pace on spiderman climbs. Lots of great things from these ladies this Monday!

Coppell 6:15am
Fit Clubber of the Day was Evelyn!  Her workout Monday was the perfect combination of everything we preach regarding the workout. Great job using challenging weight, attacking the movement with intention, and being overall hardcore. Awesome work!

MMT – Coppell 9:30am
Mommy Makeover Trainee of the Day was Cathy!  She had an awesome workout Monday which included stellar focus at each station, increased challenge on the suspension rows, her first go at training without shoes, AND reclaiming her consistency with attendance. You are back in the saddle girlie!

Fit Clubber of the Day goes to the entire group.   Nikki, Stephanie, Sheila, Aleya, Michelle, Jennifer, Andrea, Jennifer, Janisha, Angela, and Tricia were so intense and focused.  I could not pick just one FCOD Monday. Good work ladies!

 

Tuesday – 9/17/12
Crazy Conditioning 5:30am
Shout-outs to Brenda, Michelle, and Maria!!  These ladies were so encouraging to each other Tuesday morning!!! Since there were only three and we had an I-go-You-go, they decided (on their own) to rotate who would go alone!!! I was soooo proud!!! And when the two got done with their core work and the conditioning person still had 30 seconds, they were cheering her on!!!!


Wednesday – 9/19/12

Fit Clubber of the Day was Tiffany.  She pushed it hard and in doing so pushed Stephanie!!!  Stephanie came in late, and Tiffany walked her through each station :)

Fit Clubber of the Day was Emily. She increased to 10lb db's on single arm chest press and arm carries with lunges and the orange band on squat pull aparts. This girl did an amazing job Wednesday morning!

Coppell 6:15am
Fit Clubber of the Day was Miss Cinnamon!!! 25s for the dumbbell walks and was getting low, low on single leg squats!!!

MMT – Coppell 9:30am
Mommy Makeover Trainee of the Day was Nora.  She has grown so much in her weeks here and Wednesday was a display of her confidence with attacking the workouts. Way to attack the squat, climb, lunge finisher Nora. You did great!

 

Thursday – 9/20/12

Fit Clubber of the Day went to the entire group!!  Tricia, Ginna, Nikki, Swati, Melissa, and Jennifer... Congrats on being the first group to ROCK the challenge workouts!!

Fit Clubber of the Day went to the entire group – Michelle, Nancy, Lydia, Carolyn, Brenda, A.D., Randee, Donna, Natasha, Tara, Mona, and Shioneia!!  They kissed the TWO BY TEN MADNESS CIRCUIT goodbye with style. Awesome energy ladies!

Fit Clubbers of the Day for this Week -- 9/10-9/14


Monday -- 9/10/12
Coppell 5:20am
Fit Clubber of the Day was Erika!!  She helped Jada through the circuits reminding her to squeeze the muscle they were working and to keep her core tight.  Great to see!!  And, she rocked out her own stuff in the process!!!!

Fit Clubber of the Day was Daryl for doing decline pushups for the first time and increasing her weight on d.b. swings. 
Shout out also to Kalpana for her dedication even while training for the 3 day walk...she walked 15 miles on Saturday, 5 miles on Sunday and still came to Fit Club and gave 100%!

Fit Clubber of the Day was Miss Cinnamon!!! Her body was REALLY angled on the rear delt rows and she went low, low, low on the box squats!!!

Fit Clubber of the Day was Tiffany!!  She rocked the workout including going to level 3 suspension split squat jumps WITHOUT BEING ASKED. Awesome way to own your workout...keep it up!

Fit Clubbers of the Day were Michelle & Brenda!!  You guys both rocked the workout Friday morning and finished strong even AFTER doing your 50 burpee fitness challenge.  Way to be strong physically and mentally girls.  You rock!

Fit Clubber of the Day was Rochelle.  She had the title clenched Friday morning for doing push presses with 15lb d.b.s until this fabulous four committed to the burpee finisher and Maria went on the attack and did 40 in 3 minutes!!  Great job ladies.  Sheila, Daryl and Rochelle also rocked level 3 T-pushups.
